Ingredients:
5-8 cube steaks
1 1/2 med onions (sliced)
1 to 1-1/2 cups flour
2-3 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons parsley
1 lb of mushrooms
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cayenne
1-1/2 bay leaves
Fry and
brown steaks then remove. Add above ingredients to pan topping with
steaks. Cover with water bring to a boil cover then turn heat down and simmer slowly for
1-1 1/2 hours stirring occasionally 1-3 times.
Note:
For only 2-4 steaks
adjust ingredient amounts accordingly.

Add flour, nutmeg and cayenne pepper
together into a large zip lock bag and mix well.
Flour the meat by pressing the mixture into all of the sides and
then brown well in hot oil.
Remove form pan when done and leave drippings.
Place the sliced separated onion rings into the pan then and the
remaining ingredients and place the steaks on top.
Add water to almost cover the meat layer and then bring to a quick
boil.
Cover and turn heat down to a slow simmer and then cook for 1 to 1
1/2 hours.
During this time fell free to do 1 or 2 stirrings of the meat.
Important Hints:
Cover pot and cook on medium to low heat.
DO NOT STIR FOR THE FIRST 30 MINUETS
Then only stir very gently
by flipping meat @ 1 to 3 times
during cooking. |
